The Chinese embassy has opened all types of visa applications. To apply a Chinese visa, please register online: http://www.ncvisa.org/visa Then follow the visa application steps below:
1. Take a photo
ChinaStar offers photo services for visa, passport or travel document. After registering online above, please make a photo appointment by emailing to photo@chinastar.us
2. Pay a visa service fee
Pay a visa service fee of $120.

Note: The service fee is not refundable
3. Fill a COVA form
Fill an official China Online Visa Application (COVA) form at https://cova.mfa.gov.cn/
The COVA form is very long and confusing. If you submit a COVA form and it does not allow you to modify the form. Our service includes verification of your COVA form. Please send us your COVA # so that we could review your COVA before you make a submission. Email us your COVA form # and your passport number using the email template below so that we could check and verify your COVA form:
After China Star staff verifies your COVA form, please submit it. Download the submitted form in PDF. Print your COVA PDF form.
4. Prepare visa documents
Prepare the following paper documents:
1）Print and sign COAV form.
2) Photocopy your passport ID page.
3）Passport
4）Print a visa photo – if you take your visa photo with ChinaStar, we will print the photo for you.
5A）Copy previous visa.
5B）Chinese passport and its photocopy if apply for the first time by a previous Chinese passport holder.
5C）For a Chinese child born overseas to apply for a visa for the first time, please provide a copy of the birth certificate, copies of the parent passports, and their green cards (or naturalization certificates).
6） Driver license photocopy
7）Where you stay form (ChinaStar office has this form for you to sign)
8） For a family visit visa (Q2), include an invitation letter and photocopy of the invitee’s Chinese National ID
9) For a business visit visa, include an business invitation letter.
10) legal name change document if applicable
11) If you are non-US citizen, please include a copy of your US residence card or visa.
Each applicant must provide the above 1) – 7) documents. 8) is only needed for a family visit visa. 9) is needed for a business visa.
Tourist visa does not need 8) or 9).
5. Submit your documents to ChinaStar
Please email ChinaStar Visa@ChinaStar.us or text 919-244-0350 to make an appointment to submit your paper documents to ChinaStar office in Cary, NC. If you only pay $120 in Step 2) above, please submit your final payment of $140 for the Chinese Embassy fee.
6. Pick up your visa from ChinaStar
ChinaStar will submit your visa application to the Chinese Embassy in Washington, DC. It normally takes 3 weeks to get your visa approved and sent back to our office in Cary, NC. We will contact you to come to our office to pick up your visa.
